No, the title isn't what it seems to suggest (which, incidentally, is physically impossible as far as I know to have any sort of romantic, physical relationship with software, but who knows what those kids at Google are thinking up), just a play on words. Here, I go into a brief instructional dialog on how to get some free or lower cost gear using the Google Checkout API and it's associated 'offer'. Everyone likes free stuff right?

Here we are at the fifth, and most probably final, installment in this series! This article in this series which succeeds the first, “HOWTO: Mac OSX + Dell Latitude C840 - Part 1”, the second “HOWTO: Mac OSX + Dell Latitude C840 - Part 2“, the third "HOWTO: Mac OSX + Dell Latitude C840 - Part 3" and the fourth “HOWTO: Mac OSX + Dell Latitude C840 - Part 4“. We're going to tackle something fun today, your on-board 32-bit 128Mb nVidia GeForce 440 GO graphics card. An archaic relic with more variations than a chameleon can turn colors? Yes. Unfortunately, from word of DiegoMax, the probability of QE/CI being supported on these laptops is pretty remote. Alas, we need to at least get a larger resolution so let's get at it!
Every day I spent my time researching new ways to do things I have done for years, for example this weekend I spent 27 hours researching a new way to present Java EE HTTP uploads using AJAX, Servlets and EJB's. Yeah I know - blah blah, "we all do that kind of thing, who cares". But AH! I have been doing the same thing for something we are all familiar with. MySpace! Yes its rubbish, yes its been hacked together from ColdFusion and ASP .NET elements and YES it always seems to be broken, BUT there seems to be a massive market out there for people who want to make a quick buck from generating MySpace friend adders, or mass commenter's. They charge a fortune to download these applications to spam other MySpace users, why can't I make a free one? screw those guys… lets open source it! So I thought - How hard can it be? so I started to investigate and I was quite excited as to what I found. Continue reading ‘Hacking MySpace - The Basics - P1′
Let's talk power management. This is a problematic issue with this machine because the Mac OS X operating system cannot distinguish / interact with the battery(s) in this laptop by default. This is going to require us to take some measures to ensure we're able to be aware of how much power we have left on the clock. This is a another article in this series which succeeds the first, “HOWTO: Mac OSX + Dell Latitude C840 - Part 1”, the second “HOWTO: Mac OSX + Dell Latitude C840 - Part 2“ and the third "HOWTO: Mac OSX + Dell Latitude C840 - Part 3". So we've made it this far huh? Wow, the journey is coming along pretty quickly. Now, we're going to look at optimizing the system, setting up some basic interface features and let's try our hand at getting that nagging built-in Ethernet to work, what do you say? This is a another article in this series which succeeds the first, "HOWTO: Mac OSX + Dell Latitude C840 - Part 1" and the second "HOWTO: Mac OSX + Dell Latitude C840 - Part 2". So, right about this time you could be wondering, "…what's my next move?". Well, lets just break down that action into a series of steps like last time to ensure our installation is spot-on and working to the standard we would expect such as fascinating and brilliant operating system like Mac OS X to. This is a continuation article of my first, "HOWTO: Mac OSX + Dell Latitude C840 - Part 1" and as such it will be very beneficial for you to read if you're puzzled on how exactly we made it to this point.
