For those not familiar with Summercon, it is "a strong tradition of last minute disorganized last-minute planning".
This year Summercon returned to Atlanta so I made my first appearance in 7 years. Among the things that made it worth going this year:
- A shoe being thrown during a presentation for no reason
- Billy Hoffman drinking 4 beers at once while giving a presentation
- Caleb Sima confused by the mayhem during his presentation
- redpantz directing traffic in Midtown Atlanta
- Seeing people I haven't seen in years
In case you hadn't figured it out yet. Summercon is ultimately about the social side of the security industry. We get together to have fun, talk a little business, and make new friends. If you ever have the chance, please attend. I had a great time.
Oh, and some people talked about some security stuff too. SPI Dynamics (HP), ISS (IBM), and others were represented.
